From the Center Everywhere

September 5th-October 5th, 2025

McGrath Gallery, Bellarmine University

“I did know that I wanted to feel the whole field, the whole rectangle, the whole area, the world.”

-Philip Guston, I Paint What I Want to See

This body of work is a love story and spiritual reflection on the past few years since moving to Kentucky,  and thinking about the sacred spaces we spend time in- and the more personal sacred spaces within us. The meditative spaces where creation comes from- has informed this work and the show itself.

Recalling visitors, and the beautiful interactions with strangers, friends and artists-in my gallery work and the memorable conversations and moments, those connections- have given light and meaning to what I do as an artist and as a human.

This exhibition combines my painting and craft practices together, by creating space where these modes of making can offer different visual moments,  becoming a reflection on time and material.

Thresholds: Nothing is Fixed Here is a group exhibition presented by curators Casey Dressell and Sarah Melloy and includes work by Alana Fitzgerald, Lucas Keown, Kelly Zellers, Corey Allen Davis, Meagan Smith, and Tanner Hammock.

This exhibition seeks to explore our relationship with the various spaces we navigate and our perceptions, understanding, and memory of those spaces. We receive visual, haptic, and sensorial feedback from our surrounding physical spaces while spending time in digital spaces, straddling the threshold between these two worlds. Through the various artistic modes of production, this exhibition aims to beckon viewers into the present and reckon with consciously embodying the liminal.

The title of the exhibition refers to the idea that things around us are always in motion and changing. This exhibition seeks to explore the tension between holding an embodied and connected experience and the ever-transitory, fragmented world around us.
